Meet Melissa,
BSA Compliance Specialist

Melissa has been part of the North Shore Trust and Savings team since 2017, and while you may not always see her front and center, she’s one of the people behind the scenes helping keep NSTS safe, secure, and running smoothly.

Over the years, Melissa has worn quite a few hats—starting as a Teller, moving into the Universal Banker role, and eventually putting all of that experience to work as our BSA Compliance Specialist. Each role has helped shape the knowledge and experience she brings to what she does today.

As our BSA Compliance Specialist, Melissa plays an important role in protecting the bank and our customers. She helps make sure procedures are followed, keeps a close eye on security and compliance, and is often the go-to person for those “How do I do this?” questions when it comes to online banking. She’s always willing to jump in, lend a hand, and help wherever she’s needed.

But Melissa’s NSTS resume doesn’t stop at compliance! From compliance to potlucks, she’s our unofficial Social Club Queen, always ready to bring people together, plan a little fun, and make sure there’s probably something delicious involved.

Outside of work, Melissa loves a good food truck, traveling with friends, and spending time with her sweet pup. And one thing you can count on? She’s always up for a good side quest, with or without her pup!

Put a camera anywhere near Melissa, and chances are she’ll be ready for a photo op! We have the pictures to prove it.

When asked what she loves most about her job, Melissa kept it simple:

“The people. NSTS has brought me some of my best friends. My interaction with customers is limited, so loving what I do and who I do it for is everything.”

Whether she’s protecting the bank, helping a coworker, organizing the next gathering, or simply bringing a little fun to the workplace, we’re lucky to have her!
